Terms of Service

Last updated: April 15, 2026

1. Acceptance

By creating a Steward account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use it — it's that simple.

2. What Steward is

Steward is a conversational AI project-management tool. We host the service, provide software updates, and maintain reasonable uptime. We don't guarantee the service will be error-free or continuously available.

3. Your account

  • You're responsible for keeping your password safe.
  • You're responsible for what happens under your account.
  • You must be at least 13 years old to use Steward.
  • One person, one account. Don't share credentials.

4. Acceptable use

Don't use Steward to:

  • Do anything illegal
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse anyone
  • Distribute malware or spam
  • Attempt to probe, scan, or break our security
  • Reverse-engineer the service or scrape it at scale
  • Impersonate someone else

We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate this without notice if we think the abuse is serious.

5. AI-generated content

Steward uses large language models to generate check-ins, summaries, and responses. AI output can be wrong, missing context, or surprising. Treat it as a first draft, not a final answer. You're responsible for reviewing AI-generated messages before acting on them.

We don't use your task content to train models. See the Privacy Policy for details.

6. Your content

You own the content you put into Steward (tasks, projects, comments, replies). By using the service, you grant us the limited permission to store, transmit, and process that content on your behalf so the service can work. We never claim ownership.

7. Our content and brand

The Steward name, logo, website, and software are ours. Please don't copy or imitate them in a way that confuses your users about who they're dealing with.

8. Pricing and billing

During the current beta, Steward is free. When paid tiers launch, we'll give you advance notice and a choice before moving you to a paid plan. Billing terms will be published on the pricing page and any subscription you opt into will include its own cancellation rules.

9. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We can terminate accounts for violations of these Terms. On termination, your workspace content is removed per the retention policy in the Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimers and liability

Steward is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of the service is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or $50 if you're on a free plan).

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we'll email you before it takes effect. Continuing to use Steward after the change means you accept it.
